Essential Functions and Objectives:
The Coach teaches fundamental and advanced athletic skills and works with athletes to prepare them for competition. The Coach is an expert on the rules, strategies, and techniques required for the sport and is responsible for the coordination and recruitment of student participants among other duties.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
- Current CPR Certification or the ability to obtain one prior to coaching (online CPR not accepted).
- Teacher Certification is preferred.
- Completion of CHSAA coaching registration (if qualified certificated teacher not available).
- Previous coaching experience or experience working with urban youth preferred.
Education Requirements:
- High School diploma/equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
