Job Description
Location is North Baltimore SchoolsQualifications: 1. Valid drivers license2. Appropriate State of Ohio teaching certification with gifted validation3. Good health, high moral character, and good attendance record4.

Demonstrates a sincere desire to aid all studentsGeneral Description: Provides instructional services within a multidisciplinary framework which go beyond those normally provided to develop skills in higher level thinking, including critical thinking, divergent thinking, logical reasoning, and creative problem-solving; research methods; interpersonal relationships; and oral and written expression. Provides communication, evaluation, and the reporting of student progress to parents.Essential Functions: 1. Attend county, district, and building meetings (seminars, conferences, workshops, and so forth) as deemed necessary by county coordinators and/or local administrators.2. Keep attendance records, class lists, all records pertinent to the gifted program, and all other records required by district policy.3.

Participate in planned placement, team meetings, parent conferences, and informational meetings as scheduled.4. Cooperate and collaborates with other classroom teachers in the exchange of students as well as planning curriculum.5. Make special efforts, which may include parent conferences, phone calls, observations, and written reports, to keep parents and school informed.6. Requisition material and supplies from the local district and/or the Wood County Educational Service Center for distribution to students.7.

Fulfill the school calendar and daily time schedule provided and is responsible for three additional days as designated by the Wood County Educational Service Center.8. Develop teaching materials, instructional methods and lesson plans appropriate to students needs. Provides weekly detailed lesson plans to Wood County Educational Service Center as well as local school.9. Implement weekly plans with appropriate resources and adequate preparation.10.

Assess students academic and social/behavior needs continuously; develops goals and objectives based upon said needs; and evaluates students attainment of said objectives.11. Respond to classroom observation critiques by coordinators and makes appropriate changes as requested.12. Maintain file for substitute teacher in each classroom with detailed lesson plans and materials for a five-day period.13. Obtain a substitute from approved Wood County Substitute List when unable to report to work.

Notifies building principal and Wood County Educational Service Center of absence.14. Adhere to the responsibilities of a gifted education teacher as stated by Ohio Department of Education.
