Job Description

LATA is seeking a self-motivated experienced Geologist for our Amarillo, Texas office. Responsibilities include assisting in the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases for a wide range of multidisciplinary environmental projects, including site assessments, site/remedial investigations, environmental monitoring/sampling, monitoring well and soil boring installation, and remediation or corrective action field activities. Will perform field sampling activities and demonstrate proficiency with field instrumentation and equipment while working on interesting, fast-paced projects with the opportunity to learn and expand skills in a variety of environmental settings

Basic Job Requirements

• 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in geology or related geological sciences (hydrogeology, geophysics, etc.)

• Minimum 3 years of environmental remediation and field operational experience

• Professional Geoscientist (PG) or Geoscientist in Training (GIT), Texas highly preferred

• Proficiency with MS Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Project

• Ability to travel

• U.S. Citizen with valid driver’s license

• Offer contingent upon results of background check and pre-employment drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) years field supervision experience

• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training

• Willingness to take on short and long-term travel assignments
