Description

PowerSecure is seeking an experienced and reliable Generator Field Service Technician for ongoing maintenance and repair of generator and power distribution equipment in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The qualified Power Generation Service Technician should have a minimum of 4 years of generator field experience.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service all makes, models and sizes of generator sets, including engines and ATS
• Inspect, repair, service and start-up load bank test requirements on equipment
• Provide 24/7 on call service
• Deliver exceptional customer service
• Complete job documentation thoroughly and on time.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 4 years of education in electronic repair, related military experience or equivalent field experience.
• 2+ years of commercial/industrial experience performing preventive maintenance on 500+kW generators and engines.
• Operational and functional understanding of ATS and switchgear.
• Solid Troubleshooting skills on engines, generators and ATS.
• Able to travel up to 25% overnight.
• Willing to work on call and OT as required.
• Able to pass a DOT physical, background check and drug screen.
• Proficient written and verbal English skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and manufacturer's software programs.
• OEM Training, certification and/or EGSA certification a plus.

Generator Field Service Technician Physical Demands

Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work. Physical Activity: 85% physical activity required on customer site working with equipment, 15% form completion, email, other administrative tasks and completing technical support activities by way of telephone and computer communication.

• May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-75 pounds).
• Frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands, to touch, handle or grasp, reach with hands and arms.
• Combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to read computer screens, paper documents, equipment.
• Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
• Up to 10 consecutive hours driving heavy duty truck.
• May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
• Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally and hear others speaking.
