Job Description

The Broomfield Swim and Tennis Club Board of Directors is seeking a Club General Manager. The General Manager shall manage all aspects of the club, and will have direct responsibility for the life guards, concierge and maintenance staff. A key role for the Club Manager is maintaining a healthy and successful club environment by delegating and sharing the responsibilities with the Assistant Manager. The Club Manager (or their designee) is also responsible for overseeing the facility, pool, the grounds, and club- sponsored events.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Operational: *

· Be on duty a minimum of 50 hours per week during the active club season (school close to Labor Day), with the exception of one week vacation during the summer. Summer months will require extra hours. Winter months will be slower.

· Complete skilled maintenance work or supervise a maintenance professional.

· Work closely with the Swim Director and the Tennis Director and entire staff in preparing to open the club in May and close the club in September.

· Ensure that there is a Manager on Duty (Club Manager, Swim Director, Tennis Director, or Senior Lifeguard) during ALL hours of operation and that designated employee’s identity and role, as Manager on Duty, is clearly posted for all members and employees.

· Develop and monitor a daily/weekly club maintenance checklist and provide proof of adherence to said checklist as required.

· Develop and monitor a bathroom room-cleaning checklist.

· Utilize staff to maintain all areas as appropriate including, but not limited to, repairs, safety, cleanliness, lawn care, pool care, weeds, fences, grills, purchase and stock required supplies etc.

· Assist in the development and maintenance of a club safety policy manual and provide appropriate training to the staff to ensure adequate emergency management plans are in place. This would include, but not be limited to, emergency/first aid training, emergency notification protocols, etc.

· Assist in the development of a 3 year infrastructure improvement plan, to include (but not be limited to):

  • General facility maintenance and identification of normal wear and tear items.
  • A site 'beautification plan’, designed to make the general club appearance more appealing to the members.
  • All aspects of the club (buildings, landscape, tennis courts, parking, etc).Maintain, enforce and promote policies regarding safety, pool closings, lightning, medical emergencies, public health and any club rules and regulations
  • Mandatory attendance at Board meetings when requested.

· Assume other responsibilities as directed by the Board.

Personnel:

· Work with the Tennis and Swim Directors to ensure adequate staffing for all club operations, including participation in hiring, establishing schedules, and entering all payroll hours (excluding tennis staff).

· Provide management direction to all BSTC employees for all club functions including social events.

· Mentor and provide appropriate training to all staff members. Delegate responsibility, where appropriate, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

· Submit evaluations to the Board for the Swim Director and Tennis Director. Complete simple evaluations on all other BSTC staffat the conclusion of the summer; no later than October 31th.

· Hiring BSTC staff by May 1st each year.

Financial:

· Manage the summer operations to a budget provided by the Board. Purchase of non-budgeted items must have prior approval of the Board.

· Work closely with the Finance Manager regarding payroll and bookkeeping (Quickbooks entries, collect payroll hours, etc.)

Membership:

· The Club Manager will act as a liaison between members and the Board and will be responsible for conveying member ideas, concerns or issues, in an objective manner, to the board as appropriate.

· Proactively work to foster positive member relations between staff and members by establishing member friendly policies and procedures.

· Annual job performance will be partially based on membership survey results collected in November.

Job Requirements

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

· Five or more years of supervisory experience

· Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required as of May 2021 pool opening

· Knowledge of swimming facility safety, maintenance and operations in accordance with Colorado regulations

· Skilled maintenance experience a plus

· Experience running payroll and basic book keeping a plus

The Broomfield Swim and Tennis Club is a private club nestled in the heart of Broomfield, Colorado. It has been a Broomfield tradition since 1958. BSTC membership is limited to 330 family memberships, renewable on an annual basis. We have 6 outdoor lighted tennis courts, a 4 lane 27-meter swimming pool with a diving area, children’s wading pool, volleyball and basketball courts, a snack shop, picnic and grill areas and a children’s playground.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
