Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to join our night shift manufacturing maintenance team in Corinth, MS.
- Typical work schedule is AWS 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
This position requires an understanding of mechanical maintenance concepts, a great attitude, and the willingness to learn technical skills in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
This position assists higher level maintenance technicians in performing preventive maintenance on production related industrial systems, such as CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor and coolant systems.
May also work on a wide variety of facility related equipment, such as lighting systems, HVAC, pumps and motors, etc. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: inspections, lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, and associated maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the team in diagnosing malfunctions in process / production machines, equipment and related mechanical equipment as necessary.
- Assists the team with maintaining, operating and troubleshooting facility equipment and systems such as motors, motor control centers, disconnects, pumps, overhead cranes, gas analyzers, cooling towers, etc.
- Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
- Performs basic plumbing repairs.
- Performs preventive maintenance on electrical systems, controls, and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Understands company policies and ensures safety regulations.
- Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
IND-FOMMinimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- Two years of experience performing mechanical maintenance in a large commercial or industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mechanical skills, sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to facility and production related mechanical equipment.
- Basic understanding of electricity.
- Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
- Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in industrial mechanical, HVAC/R, manufacturing technology, or a related technical program.
- Experience with heating equipment properties, sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to HVAC equipment.
- Knowledge of basic refrigeration theory.
- Knowledge of EPA guidelines.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience safely utilizing a wide variety of hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, email, etc.
Other Attributes:
- Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
