Gardener

JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are currently looking for a qualified Gardener for this location. The Gardener performs a variety of lawn maintenance tasks, such as mowing, trimming, and cleanup. He or she must strictly follow all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA guidelines when performing any/all tasks associated with this position.

The ideal candidate has the skills and experience to perform all related duties (as described in the Responsibilities section), the physical ability to perform all aspects of this job, which includes working outdoors in all conditions, and can understand spoken and written instructions in English. Candidates must be willing to get to work with a positive attitude and must pay attention to detail and take pride in a job well done. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures positive customer relations by knowing the customer for each job site, being courteous at all times, and knowing how to answer questions or escalate as needed
• Presents a professional image through proper employee actions and by wearing the approved uniform
• Maintains and promotes safe working conditions in the field at all times to ensure zero preventable accidents, which includes wearing and maintaining the required PPE at all times
• Attends company orientation before starting work and participates in safety tailgate meetings
• Removes loose trash and debris from landscape area before mowing
• Performs landscaping tasks, such as removing weeds from sidewalks, curb lines, and mulch beds; removing dead flower heads from annual and perennial flowers; and removing tree suckers
• Reports property damage to Crew Leader
• Helps crew load and unload equipment at the job site
• Learns how to mow patterns and changes pattern each week
• Learns to use the proper equipment for the job being performed, including knowing what fuel each piece of equipment requires and how to properly load/unload equipment
• Becomes certified for equipment being used (21” mower, 36” mower, 48” & 60” mower, riding mower, blower, edger, and weedeater)
• Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to read and write English and follow written and spoken instruction
• Must be a team player with a “can-do” attitude who can work well with all co-workers
• Must be able to get a job done on time and know what to do next
• Must be willing and able to become certified in the equipment used (21” mower, 36” mower, 48” & 60” mower, riding mower, blower, edger, and weedeater)
• Must be able to lift or move up to 60 pounds and perform all other physical requirements associated with a position of this nature
• Must be willing and able to work in an environment that includes exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions
