Gallery Manager/Creative Assistant
We are a fine art gallery looking for a creative and passionate individual to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to managing and maintaining a retail gallery. You will also be responsible for a number of marketing duties, including generating content for social media and emails, website management, and aiding in event planning and promotion. This position works closely with the gallery owner and gallery director in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the team to design creative content for websites and social media
- Keep website inventory and information current
- Design digital and print material for marketing and promotion
- Aid in event planning and promotion
- Work with the team to maintain the gallery’s professional aesthetic and presentation
- Work with the team to maintain database systems
- Work with the team to communicate with clients and colleagues in a professional manner
- Assist in handling artwork properly with care
- Assist in research and gathering support material relevant to the artists and artwork represented by the gallery
- Support the gallery’s success by helping to maintain organized operation of the day-to-day business
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in fine art, graphic design, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Understanding of web design and functionality
- Commitment to high quality output of work
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Self-motivated
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Eager to learn and willing to work in a collaborative team environment
- Basic photography skills preferred
- Video/audio familiarity preferred
Schedule
- Full time schedule
- Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm
Pay
- From $18.00 per hour, Commensurate with experience.
