Full Time/Part Time Child Care Worker

Part-Time/Floater Positions with flexible schedule - hours will vary between 7:00 am-5:30 pm

Heavenly Host Lutheran School in Cookeville is seeking one Full-Time position and two Part-Time/Floater positions to join our team! The jobs involve caring for and playing with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, maintaining a welcoming, safe, child-friendly environment, as well as working with a great team of people.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Full-Time job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: understanding curriculum as it pertains to the child; instructing children individually and in a group; interacting and engaging with students to facilitate cognitive and social-emotional learning, establish meaningful and positive relationships with parents and co-workers; assuming responsibility for the welfare, safety, and health of the children. Must be 21 years or older.
• Part-Time/ Floater job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting in implementing lesson plans that correlate with the Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards (TN-ELDS); always being engaged with children during play to help teach them social skills; communicating appropriately with the children in the program to help develop language, communication, and problem-solving skills; opening and closing rooms; helping with lunch breaks. Must be 21 years or older.

Profile of an Ideal Candidate

• One year of Early Childhood Education experience, preferred (not required)
• Experience working with children in a supervised setting
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to interact well with children, families, and campus faculty is required
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills
• Ability to be flexible to center's needs and hours

Experience preferred but not required (days and hours will vary)

Applicants MUST BE 21 years or older, and a High School Diploma or GED is required.

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
