Job Description

This position supports the management, development, philosophy, and standards of the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This position provides orientation, supervision, and residential activities of beneficiaries in a sober living setting.

  • Enforcement of house rules and overall security of the center, including ensuring all times of day are adequately covered.
  • Train, schedule and supervise Assistant Resident Manager(s).
  • Give direction to the Assistant Resident Managers safeguarding and ensuring consistent adherence to all ARC house rules and policies.
  • Conduct residence and program orientation for new beneficiaries that includes a facility tour and review of emergency procedures.
  • Lead weekly house meetings.
  • Supervise the medication call and ensuring all beneficiaries record medication in medicine log according to policies and procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to routine questions and inquiries from beneficiaries or refer them to appropriate staff.
  • Provide safe transportation for beneficiaries as needed while following all procedures for operation of motor vehicles.
  • Respond to emergencies according to established procedures. Report situations to the DRS/MRS or Administrator and make written incident reports and Safe From Harm reports if necessary.
  • Implement, monitor, coordinate and attend leisure time activities both in center and out (concerts, athletic events, etc.)
  • Assist in resolving beneficiary problems as necessary.
  • Responsible to train, schedule and supervise beneficiaries assigned to work therapy assignments such as janitorial crew, front desk or similar.
  • Participate in in-service trainings and workshops to enhance professional skills.
  • Conduct bed checks at appropriate times.
  • Administer drug and alcohol breathalyzer or urinalysis tests to beneficiaries
  • Report and document violations of center policies to Administrator and appropriate program staff.
  • Complete daily reports and electronic data entries which include beneficiaries admitted, terminated and unusual or otherwise noteworthy after-hours incidents.
  • Assess spiritual needs of beneficiaries and refer to Chaplain/Administrator as needed.
  • Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional journals, reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from beneficiaries, agencies, or the community. Effectively present information to administration, beneficiaries, and public groups. Basic computer skills including but not limited to MS Office, data management, and all other programs or systems that are adopted by the TSA ARC. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Travel: Less than 10% of the position time for out of town or overnight program retreat and conferences. Working Conditions: The work environment for this position is a residential institutional environment and typical office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. At times this position may be required to go into the warehouse or stores, where closed toe shoes with rubber soldes are required for all employees.
