Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Center Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing domestic and international packages for courier shipment and operating printers and wide format equipment, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.

The ideal candidate has previous print production experience, strong computer and internet skills, retail sales experience, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries
  • Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions
  • Operates and maintains print and finishing equipment
  • Continuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership
  • May open and/or close the store and perform end-of-day accounting, etc.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment
  • Follows and understands quality guidelines
  • Frequently multi-tasks while maintaining extreme attention to detail and high quality control
  • Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions
  • Takes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends
  • Develops as a team player and is critical to the production process
  • Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others
  • Consistently follows up on production activity using various communication methods (telephone, email, etc.)
  • Develops and maintains accurate customer files based on production work flow
  • Effectively manages production schedule and production materials
  • Communicates effectively and continuously practices good listening with customers, co-workers, vendors, and leadership
  • Completes tasks independently in a quick turn environment
  • Interprets a variety of instructions provided in written or verbal form
  • Checks in inventory
  • Performs other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Retail/customer service experience
  • Prompt, reliable, and responsible
  • Able to operate and maintain print and finishing equipment
  • Knowledge and application of printing concepts
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
  • One year of customer service experience required (more preferred)
  • Willing and able to work 30 to 40 hours per week for a 6-day work week
  • Shipping experience desired
  • Outstanding phone skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and math
  • High energy level
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Able to lift 40+ pounds
  • Prompt, reliable, and responsible
  • Neat, clean, and professional appearance
  • Able to cross sell and up sell products and services
  • Able to work collaboratively
