As a Barclays Front Office Software Developer, you will be working on a Rates Trade Capture and Clearing Development. The team is specifically focused on the ongoing delivery of commercial, market-driven and regulatory changes to the Rates Trade Capture Systems, databases, reporting & publication services, and UIs. You will work in a Scrum of 4 to 6 team members comprising of Developers, Business Analysts and Testers delivering changes requested by Front Office and Middle Office stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

• Participating across the full development lifecycle with project managers, business analysts, senior developers and testers and collaborate on delivering requested changes
• Understanding business requirements and executing the necessary code changes needed for those requirements to be met
• Executing testing and writing unit/continuous integration tests to prove both the success of changes and avoid regression
• Contributing to discussions regarding system architecture and improvement of processes
• Understanding and adhering to team processes and the control environment
• You will be accountable for providing Level-three support

What we’re looking for:

• Good academic track record with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar
• Proficiency in Core Java with four+ years programming experience, reading, writing and debugging multi-threaded code
• Four+ years proven ability to work in a team environment with experience of the full Software Development Lifecycle

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Clear and concise communication
• Working knowledge of CI and unit test frameworks
• Working knowledge of XML and SQL and related technologies
• Proven experience of the full software development lifecycle
