About the RoleAs Fraud Risk Analyst, you are responsible for working with internal and third-party data to detect patterns, derive insight, and inform strategy as it relates to fraud risk management. This individual will be a self-starter who is able to effectively translate data into actionable recommendations. You will work to detect and mitigate a number of various fraud MOs, including identity theft, synthetic identity fraud, account takeover, first-party fraud, and other responsibilities assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage data-driven insights to support and drive changes to fraud strategy, transaction/user monitoring, and anomaly detection
- Work closely with VP, Fraud Risk Management
- Be an organizational expert on our tracking tools; educate and evangelize a data-driven approach throughout the user experience
- Continue to develop our in-house risk analytics tools to track portfolio performance and make recommendations
- Perform ad-hoc data studies based on requirements from management
- Evaluation/validation of external data and predictive models
- Using both internally- and externally-developed models, determine score cutoffs, optimization, champion-challenger treatments, etc., in support of Fraud strategy
- Perform investigative analyses using structured and unstructured data in order to identify predictive features, detect patterns, and optimize rules/strategies
- Forecasting of key fraud metrics
- Timely fulfillment of Regulatory / Compliance Data Needs
- Work with the senior management team to support decisions with data
- 5+ years of fraud risk and/or analytical experience
- Experience working with databases (e.g. MongoDB,PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, etc)
- Knowledge of R or Python
- Ability to formulate novel solutions to problems, communicate thought process clearly, and think within the context of larger business needs and targets
- Firm grounding in statistics, specifically related to exploratory and predictive modeling methods, A/B testing, design of experiments, etc.
- Familiarity with forecasting models and methodologies
- Familiarity with risk models, decision engines, rules management systems, and other elements used in the administration of risk management strategy and policy
- Familiarity with threat landscape and various fraud MOs as they apply to credit/debit card, payments, lending, cryptocurrency, etc.
