Forklift Operator

Shift: 3rd Shift - 3pm - 11pm (M-F)

Position Summary:

To maintain product flow to and from the die cutting department, in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain an active forklift license.
• Keep the die cutters and window machine stocked with pallets, and when necessary, product.
• Remove product from the window machine, and take to the wrapper.
• Remove wrapped product from the stretch wrapper conveyor, and store neatly in the provided storage locations. Pickup pallet boards without running over.
• Consolidate product in the storage area to maintain first in – first out, and to help make space for additional product.
• Assist shipping by taking some of the necessary blanks for shipment. to the shipping department.
• Fill in for the window machine operator and the wrapper during breaks (approximately 3 hours daily)
• Remove waste from the die cutters and printers, weight it, produce bale tag from shop floor system and remove to the baler room.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Supply pallets to all Bobst and setup.
• Correct operating status of wrapper as needed, replace film, etc.
• Fix and correct any backups and spilled loads of tracks.
• Able to change battery on fork lift.
• This position requires the ability to think ahead for machine changeovers, complete fork lift check list and turn in at beginning of shift to supervisor, keep stretch wrap and tape at station, keep safety and awareness at a high level, when on fork lift yield to people on the floor and keep Bobst machines running.

Candidate Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Know which skids are to be used for each product
• Must be able to get up/down from forklift safely.
• Good communication skills and be a self starter.
