Job Description

Summary: As a Forklift Operator you will perform assigned shipping and receiving duties and assist the supervisor or lead with day-to-day warehouse activities. This position requires you to operate a forklift in a safe manner. Typical responsibilities include ensuring raw materials are checked in and put in proper locations, ensure trucks are unloaded/loaded properly and stock is rotated according to a First In/First Out procedure. Attention to detail is required in completing paperwork, counting inventory and marking, storing and handling of goods. You will work as a team with co-workers and supervisors to ensure all warehouse needs are met and a clean and organized workspace is maintained. The ideal candidate for the Warehouse Associate position has completed at high school diploma or equivalent, has previous material handling experience and is able to satisfactorily complete a forklift training program. This job is a good fit for a detail-oriented person who will make safety and teamwork a priority.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift safely observing all safety rules, utilizing horns and maintaining proper speeds
  • Team player both inside and outside assigned department
  • Follow the directions and procedures of Supervision/Leads and the organization
  • Able to prioritize tasks and display a sense of urgency
  • Ensure all raw materials are checked in, placarded and put away in the proper location
  • Ensure all trucks are unloaded/loaded properly and all paperwork filled out accordingly
  • Ensure all stock is rotated in accordance to FIFO (First In/First Out) procedure
  • Ensure that all partial items are combined, counted and marked properly
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by properly marking, storing & handling FG/RM
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
  • Work assigned overtime and covers co-worker’s vacation
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications:

General:

  • Must have previous material handling experience
  • Satisfactory completion of forklift training program
  • Detail oriented with good organization and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Willing to train in other areas of the plant
  • Must be available to work overtime on short notice which may include weekend, evening or holiday hours

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must possess either a High School diploma or GED

Language Skills:

  • Must be able to be trained to read, speak, and write English with good interpersonal skills
