Providence is calling a Food Services Worker (Food and Nutrition Services, Evening Shift, 0.56 FTE, 22.40 hours per week) to Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Accept and support the mission and values of Holy Family Hospital.
  • Support the Performance Improvement process.
  • Follow policies related to work attendance and dress code.
  • Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Consider individual needs in communication with patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects, to include all ages.

  • Maintain all areas in a clean and sanitary manner; maintains sanitation/foodborne illness prevention records as required; performs special cleaning duties as assigned by manager.
  • Assemble and delivers food to patients as required.
  • Operate dish machine.
  • Wash pots and pans in 3-compartment sink.
  • Deliver clean dishes and utensils to proper area.
  • Assist in preparing/assembling salads, desserts, nourishments, and late trays.
  • Operate POS system, serves customers exceeding their expectations, stock retail areas.
  • Use safely, maintains and cleans a variety of kitchen equipment and smallwares.
  • Identify the names of, and how to operate safely, maintain, and clean the following equipment and storage areas:
  • Dish machine.
  • Milkshake machine.
  • Juice machine.
  • Frozen yogurt machine.
  • Coffee equipment.
  • Garbage disposal.
  • Trash compactor.
  • Cardboard baler.
  • Toaster.
  • Soda fountain.
  • Polar shock machine.
  • Cappuccino/hot chocolate machine.
  • Set up, breakdown, clean and stock all patient feeding and retail areas.
  • Accurate and timely assembly of patient trays. Accurate and timely delivery of patient trays. Works accurately at required pace.
  • Demonstrate the proper procedure for correcting serving temperatures (hot or cold).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of proper portion sizes and serving utensils.
  • Understand modified diets and department terminology.
  • Utilize appropriate pick up schedule/routine for dirty dish carts.
  • Can accurately prepares and deliver floor stock.
  • Wash and tail dishes/pots at required pace. Delivers clean wares to proper storage area.
  • Demonstrate correct procedure for cleaning and sanitizing all food carts.
  • Demonstrate proper technique for the removal of glass and sharp objects from production area.
  • Demonstrate proper procedures for 3-compartment pot washing.
  • Demonstrate correct sanitizing levels and testing. Completes all daily tests and documentation.
  • Demonstrate proper storage techniques label, date and rotate. (FIFO) Change pans as needed. Clean shelving and floors. Remove empty boxes.
  • If needed has the ability to assist in preparing salads, desserts and nourishments.
  • Understand H.A.C.C.P. and its importance to food safety. Consistently completes his/her responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Current Food Handlers Card in Washington State

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Food service experience
  • Health care experience
