CLASS SUMMARY:
Incumbents are responsible for shipping, receiving, stocking, issuing, and delivering supplies, materials, mail, and equipment throughout the District. Incumbents may be responsible for disposing of unwanted District property.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
The Food Services Materials Handler/Driver is the second level of a three level warehouse series. The Food Services Materials Handler/Driver is distinguished from the Materials Handler/Driver by the requirement of a commercial driver’s license
(CDL) and from the Materials Supervisor, which has full supervisory responsibilities.
DUTY FRE- BAND/
NO. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a QUENCY GRADE representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
1. Receives and checks shipments to include unloading Daily freight and checking for quantity, count, and 20% damaged goods.
2. Delivers and/or picks up food, materials, and/or Daily supplies throughout the District. 20%
3. Operates a variety of equipment to include trucks, Daily forklifts, pallet jacks, sweepers, postage meters, 10% and/or audiovisual equipment.
4. Prepares and processes paperwork for incoming Daily and/or outgoing materials to include inputting 10% information into a database.
5. Pulls and packs orders for schools and District Weekly facilities to include checking for proper quantity and 10% quality.
6. Stocks warehouse to include checking for location, Weekly rotating stock, and performing inventory checks. 10%
7. Picks up and appropriately disposes of unwanted or Weekly damaged property. 10%

8. Maintains delivery trucks, which includes: filling with Weekly fuel, checking fluids, washing interior and exterior, 5% and performing other related tasks.

Knowledge of:
- Standard warehousing procedures and practices;
- Inventory procedures;
- Safe work practices;
- Customer service principles.
Skills (position requirements at entry):
Skill in:
- Using a computer and applicable software applications;
- Entering data into a computer;
- Operating trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, sweepers, and other related equipment;
- Providing customer service;
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Training and Experience (position requirements at entry):
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.), and one year of warehouse, driver, or courier experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry):
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License;
- Ability to obtain Forklift Certification.
- Commercial Driver’s License within 45 days;
- Food Service Worker Card within 30 days.

Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Incumbents may be subjected to poor ventilation, extreme temperatures, workspace restrictions, and travel.
