The Food Service Assistant Manager position is a full time benefited position
Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to oversee and ensure professional operations of Food Service at Winthrop Rockefeller Institute. This positions will insure high standards are achieved while ensuring guest and employee satisfaction and maximizing the financial performance of Food Service operations.
Employee must perform the following essential duties
- Oversee and train wait staff to ensure outstanding service in both food and beverage service
- Review BEO’s to insure proper service times, number of servers and set-up for events and meetings
- Assist Food Service Manager in managing daily schedules and activities of all wait staff and bartenders
- Assist kitchen with coordination of food and bar setups
- Assist Food Service Manager in the development and maintenance of wine list
- Assist with bar inventory and other items not ordered by the Kitchen Manager
- Assist with setup for satellite food and bar events
- Assist Food Service Manager in managing the bar during hours of operation.
- Coordinate with Kitchen Manager to ensure consistent service between back of house and front of house
- Oversee opening and closing duties of wait staff
- Assist with training for wait staff and bartenders as needed
- Assist with supervision of meeting rooms setup
- Assist Food Service Manager with investigating and resolving food quality and service complaints
- Assist with review of food safety and handling requirements of the local health department to ensure compliance
- Serve and bartend as needed
- Assist with hiring decisions for wait staff and bartenders
- Assist Director of Hospitality with standards of service for wait staff and bartenders
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to manage, direct, supervise all wait staff and bartenders
- Proficient computer skills (Maestro, ALOHA, MS Word)
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of food and beverage industry standards, rules, regulations, etc.
- Must be Management Serve Safe Certified or be willing to certified within three months of employment
- Positive, team-minded attitude
- Reliable transportation
- Flexible work schedule
Environmental Factors: (lifting, standing, sitting, sounds, chemicals, hazards, etc.)
- Standing for an extended periods of time (minimum of 6 - 8 hours)
- Lifting 20 to 40lbs.
- Smells, odors (housecleaning chemicals)
- Bending, stooping, squatting
- Noises associated with responsibilities
- Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from Petit Jean Mountain
- 2 years experience
- Education: High school diploma or GED, Bachelor's in Hospitality or Restaurant Management preferred
- Availability: Must be available to work any shift, 7 days a week
