FOOD CONTROL SPECIALIST DIETARY

APD TACACHALE

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA

This position will work along side dietitians and home staff to ensure all needed and necessary nutritional items are on the home per prescribed dietary orders.


Monitor home dietary needs including but not limited to the following: Inventory of on hand supplies such as snacks, grocery items, milk/juice and supplements. Rotation of all items to maximize First In/First Out protocol. Reporting overages to Food Service Director II or Operations Management Consultant II. Placing supplement orders with Food Services based on dietitian orders and inventor. Logging temperatures of refrigerator and freezers on each home as assigned.


Assist staff with the monitoring of the meal service process in order to provide accurate nutritional care as specified by the menu and diet prescriptions. Make changer to the meals due to temporary diet modifications, transfers or hospitalizations. Check and ensure the accuracy of the diet cards utilized in the tray line operation which includes printing, sorting, cutting and bundling.


Assist in the production, distribution and sanitation of the meals and trays served. Ensures the work area, equipment and utensils are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. Hair nets and gloves must be worn at all times.


Perform other related duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.


WORKING HOURS


Shifts and days off vary. Total hours in workweek 40.


This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035. This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
