Floral Designer

Blaine Bouquets Is looking for an experienced floral designer to work in the role of senior or intermediate designer. This person will need at least 3 years experience in floral design work and at least 2 years working in a retail store environment. They will need to be well versed in the techniques incorporated in making body flowers, wedding work, as well as every day floral arranging. The position we are hiring for is part time at least or about 12 hours a week. This would be more more hours once covid issues are over. Candidate needs to be available at key event and holiday times. Scheduling at holiday times will vary, but likely will be around 20 or 25 hours.

We are currently open Monday, Thursday and Friday. Mostly 10 am to 1 pm ish or longer if required. This will change; as covid conditions decrease we may be able to support being open on other days.

Duties will also include answering phones, taking orders, accepting cash register payments. As well as helping customers determine what they are looking for and filling the order as specified.

Flower ordering, processing-cleaning and care as well as general cooler cleaning and up keep will all be part of the job. Taking care of made arrangements, watering live plants and staging floral items in store. Knowledge of flowers and care to provide for product longevity is a requirement.

This position may also include duties such as floral product and gift ordering and coordination of work tasks.

Candidate will need to provide picture of designs. Portfolio or emailed pictures are acceptable.

All staff and customers are required to wear a mask in the shop. Our shop does not have many customers at this point in time due to covid. Mostly floral business and is via phone and internet.
