Assignment: This position offers a rewarding opportunity as a F 35 Training System Pilot SME (Flight Instructor Stf) supporting the UK MoD at Edwards AFB, CA.

This position will transition with the UK MOD when they move their DMRT operations to Nellis AFB, NV in late 2022 or 2023. We can discuss more current information during the interview.

Working as a F-35 Pilot SME you will support UK military pilots’ flight procedures in maintaining qualification level in the Pilot Training Device by executing approved pilot training syllabi, upgrade, and tactics training. Instructor will provide instruction using the Deployable Mission Rehearsal Trainer (DMRT). The instructor will primarily operate Instructor Operating Station (IOS) and will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting pilot training and tactics development, as well as recommendations for courseware updates. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin team at dedicated training sites to fulfill F-35 training and continuation training objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies, as directed.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access.

Deployment and continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the OJT required at Lockheed Martin’s training locations prior to starting your assignment. This is not a telecommute position. These locations may include and are not limited to: Luke AFB, AZ; Nellis AFB, NV, Hill AFB, UT; Eglin AFB, FL; Edwards AFB, CA; Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Yuma, AZ; Beaufort, SC.

When selected you may be required to work rotating shifts, and work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Candidate must be willing to support flexible work hours to align with customer operational schedule.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to work unsupervised towards program goals
  • Strong systems engineering background
  • Willingness to travel to support mission requirements
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 1000 hours Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation fighter aircraft. Former Instructor Pilot (IP)
  • Candidate must have prior experience in Military Pilot Academic and Simulator Training
  • Candidate must have operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as NVS, LANTIRN, Helmet Mounted Cuing, and the latest weapons inventory
  • Candidate must be familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods. Must have in-depth knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft systems
  • Candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature
  • Use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required. Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.
Candidate must have a current final secret security clearance with a reinvestigation within the last six years.

F-35 system knowledge
F-35 Full Mission Simulator experience
Familiarity with the F-35 ALIS program
Currently possess F-35 Program special access.
