Job Description

Mobile Fleet Service Technician

Work Location: Onsite Mobile Workstation or Shop’s Home Base

Schedule: Mon – Fri 7am – 5pm, on-call/weekends

Pay: Paid Weekly 18 - 30 an hour (based on experience and acquired skill level), supplemental and a performance-based bonus paid monthly

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for qualified, Self-Motivated Technicians to join our family at J&M Direct’s - Onsite Fleet Service!

Our objective is to "Wow" our clients with quick and efficient preventative maintenance and repairs on their job site with our Mobile workstations. In order for us to do this, we need you!

Mechanical Skills: Technicians must be familiar with parts and components of engines, transmissions, braking mechanisms, and other complex systems. Must be able to disassemble, work on, and reassemble parts and machinery.

Tools: Technicians need to have their own basic hand tools

Troubleshooting Skills: Technicians must be able to identify mechanical and electronic problems, work hand in hand with their service writer, make repairs, and offer a proper maintenance strategy. Must be familiar with electronic control systems and the appropriate tools needed to fix and maintain them.

  • Follow check list of inspection procedures
  • Troubleshoot fault codes and check engine lights as well as installation of engine, transmissions and other components.
  • Test drive all types of vehicles to diagnose malfunctions when needed
  • Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment such as an oscilloscope, which is used to measure the voltage produced by electronic components
  • Diagnose, disassemble, clean, and inspect engine components
  • Diagnose, disassemble, clean, overhaul, repair, and or adjust clutches, transmissions, differentials, suspension systems, electrical systems, braking systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, steering systems, emission and hydraulic systems
  • Submit and complete technical reports and documentation daily
  • Use ramps, hydraulic jacks or hoists when needed
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly
  • Perform all training expectations staying up to date with the latest technologies
