The Idaho Division of Career Technical Education provides leadership and coordination for programs in career technical education in various parts of the state. With a customer-service focus, the Division leads Idaho’s efforts of preparing youth and adults for high-skill, in-demand careers.
The incumbent(s) will provide classroom or practical hands-on training and evaluation for firefighters
Key Responsibilities:
Act ethically at all times in accordance with the very highest standards of integrity- Facilitate predesigned coursework and activities
- Create and adapt personal delivery methods considering participants and the training curriculum
- Ensure safety best practices
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must effectively demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas:
Knowledge of a variety of teaching methodologies, including simulation and performance-based training and testing- Experience interacting with diverse fire service organizations
- Must meet NFPA Fire Instructor I requirements or possess IFSAC Instructor I or higher certificate
- Associate’s degree or higher in applicable occupational area plus three years of applicable subject area experience OR five years full-time, recent employment experience in the fire service, hazardous materials, or other subject areas in which candidate is applying to instruct OR five years applicable experience plus 200 documented training in the areas in which candidate is applying to instruct
