We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller and Property / Asset Manager who will wear multiple hats across our organization. Reporting to the CFO & CEO, the individual will play a leadership role managing accounting and financial functions across all operating businesses and properties across the organization. She or he will help drive development of our financial and operational infrastructure, budgeting, financial reporting, performance analysis, financial projections and provide strategic recommendations to the C-Suite. The individual will also take ownership of the property management function. He or she will create institutional-quality processes and infrastructure that will allow us to scale with the appropriate controls in place.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Control & Reporting
- Oversee the accounts payable, receivables, reporting and tax functions across multiple companies
- Streamline accounting processes to reduce manual intervention to the greatest extent possible and freeing up time for value-added analysis.
- Drive the continuous development and improvement of financial reporting leveraging Yardi software to the fullest.
- Help drive and optimize a portfolio-wide cost allocation and management services framework
- Working closely with accounting advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance and filings.
- Drive continuous improvement of monthly financial reporting packages
- Track properties and JV partnerships to ensure reporting is received and provided on a timely basis.
- Help develop, implement and maintain portfolio insurance strategies.
- Help track and manage our usage of external legal and accounting advisors ensuring that invoices are accurate and expensed to the proper company
- Help oversee and manage the family office of the principal which includes a range of properties, partnerships and alternative and traditional investments globally.

Property Management
- Act as the lead property / asset manager for a growing portfolio of mixed-use commercial and multifamily properties slated for development
- Leverage the Yardi software to the fullest to streamline property management operations.
- Maintain excellent relationships with our growing roster of tenants and ensure timely collections and addressing property maintenance issues in an efficient manner.
- Work with our lenders on various financial and reporting matters
- Real estate experience across multiple asset classes / mixed use projects would advantageous including retail, multifamily, urban-mixed use, hotels/hospitality assets
- Act as a main point of contact for our tenants
- Develop strategies for financing properties while freeing up capital for investment

- University Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Advanced Degree a Plus but not required
- CPA a plus but not required
