The Global Services Group (GSG) provides American Express’ renowned brand of customer service to consumers, merchants, and corporations. This Analyst – Global Services Group Finance opportunity is a financial management and decision support role for two organizations: Strategy, Transformation & Capabilities and Global Servicing Enablement. These organizations are critical enablers for the operation and success of Global Services Group as well as American Express. To be successful, the candidate will need to collaborate with the finance manager and business partners to size potential risks and opportunities using data driven insights and modeling. This role will have exposure to senior finance leaders and will interact frequently with GSG Business Partners as well as Corporate Planning & Analysis and Business Unit CFO teams.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Finance and Business Partners in support of forecasting and results analysis
- Implement new tools and process improvements to enhance reporting, enable analysis, and drive automation
- Partnering with Business to develop recommendations, influence outcomes, and meet business objectives
- Perform ad hoc analysis leveraging Finance and GSG analytical data in Cornerstone
- Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of experience in Finance or a relevant Analytical role
- Manipulates large amounts of data and generates meaningful insights
- Continuously questions analysis to identify and correct inconsistencies
- Breaks down problems and applies appropriate techniques to solve
- Must be results driven and proactive with the ability to manage multiple work streams and work within tight timelines
- Builds and leverages relationships to influence and drive results
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with knowledge of SQL database, Microsoft Power BI or Macros/VBA a plus
