Summary
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for the administration and technical oversight of the finance department. This includes all financial and business management practices, operational controls, and process improvements. The incumbent is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of ARE's financial reporting results and for maintaining a strong internal control environment.
Duties
Oversees the organization's financial reporting function including: month-end closes, account reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, grant management and reporting, payroll and related taxes, revenue accounting (restricted and unrestricted assets), property accounting and program reporting. Responsible for ARE's cash management and forecasting practices as well as its annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles. Responsible for the coordination of the annual audit. Collaborates with ARE's program managers ensuring that program-related revenues and expenses are properly reflected in both internal and external reporting.
Provides supervision to the accountant.
30 hour position. Based upon negotiations.
Requirements
At least five years related financial management experience. Minimum three years supervisory experience, preferably in a non-profit environment. Familiarity with financial reporting systems and controls. Familiarity with computer technology. Ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels both internally and externally.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Masters Degree in Business Administration. Combination of experience and education considered.
