The Fin Solutions Lead Analyst is a strategic professional within R2R GPO Book & Records (B&R) team who applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge and contributes to the the design and implementation of global integrated, standard books and records governance and process as part of the B&R Close, ensuring accurate, consistent and timely closing of Citi’s Books & Records which forms the basis of Citi’s externally disclosed results, and internal financial and management reporting. This role will interact with key stakeholders across Finance, Finance Risk Shared Services (FRSS) and other disciplines to ensure appropriate alignment and accountability of activities supporting the end-to-end B&R Close.
This position will support Citi’s Finance Transformation priorities with specific Consent Order focus and related deliverables and will interface and engage with other R2R GPO and Consent Order initiatives including but not limited to Data, General Ledger & Contractual Subledger, Controls and the Reporting workstreams.
The Fin Solutions Lead Analyst stays abreast of developments within own field and requires an understanding of finance and how finance areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the Finance function. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. The individual must be able to evaluates moderately complex issues, where developing an approach or action using multiple sources of information and involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potential conflicting situations. Requires excellent analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Contribute as part of a team while being able to assume informal or formal leadership roles as required. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the design, implementation and governance of global close solutions, including:
- Participates in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process and organizational structure covering Finance across Citi businesses, products, functions and locations.
- Supports the shift from monthly to a daily close and drive the need for daily results.
- Plays a part in settling and operating necessary forums and frameworks to establish and govern policies and starts for global Finance processes.
- Contribute to defining and implementing FB&R Governance & Oversight, Policy & Standards and Data standardization.
- Participates in assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into finance processes and applications.
- Strategic professional who advises on directional strategy by analyzing subject matter and its application in own job and the business.
- Contributes to digital transformation and automation opportunities.
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 6-10+ years of relevant experience, within Finance, Accounting or related field, the financial services industry preferred
- Recognized technical authority for an area within the business.
- Requires communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others both written and verbal, across organizational levels, functions and regions.
- Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Individual should be analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
- Advanced proficiency in digital tools, Microsoft Office, and Big Data.
- Project management experience, Agile project management, Scrum methodology preferred
- Excellent analytical and technical skills with the ability to document findings and requirements in accordance with approved quality procedures and standards.
- In depth knowledge of banking products / systems preferred.
- CPA / CA preferred
Education:
- Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
