Job Description
New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center's Administrative office located at 176-20 148th Ave, Jamaica (off Guy Brewer Blvd, near JFK) is seeking a Part time File Clerk to do file management and maintenance.
The position involves filing medical charts, cataloging new charts into a database, and reviewing/preparing charts for purging and shredding.
Other tasks include collating and preparing on boarding materials for new employees, preparing packets for special events, special projects for the CEO and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must be organized, detail oriented and driven to work hard.
- Knowledge of filing systems (preferred)
- Very good knowledge of MS Office and office equipment such as photocopier, scanner etc.
- Good command of English both oral and written
- Dependable with a respect to confidentiality and policies
- Excellent organizational skills
- Great attention to detail
- Completed High school degree or higher
- Some experience as file clerk preferred but not required
- Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred but not required
This job does include some lifting and moving of charts and boxes.
Hours preferred are Monday to Wednesday 8am - 5pm. Schedule is flexible.
Minimum of 16 hours required.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift/move files or boxes of files, lift and move supplies, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
