Industries of focus are pharmaceutical, life sciences, food, personal care and industrial goods.
Main Responsibilities / Activities
- Proficient to perform field service for state of the art packaging automation equipment with electrical and mechanical machine knowledge
- Travel throughout the US of up to 80% per year
- Start-up, repair and upgrading of machines in customer plants. Perform contracted or periodic maintenance of machines.
- Training of customer personnel to properly operate and maintain machines
- Attainment of a working knowledge of all assigned equipment in the field
- Dependable and able to work independently and unsupervised
- Salary plus overtime and expense
Basic Requirements
- 2 year college level technical training in mechanical and electrical technology or equivalent
- Services machines in customer plants and provides service information by telephone
- Technical “hands-on” experience and skills for packaging equipment
- Assists customer and Sales Department in ordering replacement parts and sees that they are ordered properly
- Communicates with support staff and engineers in the US, Sweden and France
- Keeps in contact with customers to maintain their confidence in equipment and service
- Trains customer personnel to properly operate and maintain equipment
- Creates and submits service reports, expense reports, daily time sheets, etc.
- Makes arrangements for travel requirements. Extensive travel required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Service Manager or as circumstances require, such as:
- Helping train new service personnel
- Recommending equipment changes to engineering
- Representing sales, customer service and engineering departments in the field
- Assisting engineering with start-up operation and modification of experimental machines
- Reports customer accidents and any unsafe conditions to customer and internal management
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other proprietary programs
- Performs international service duties as assigned
