This is a fully remote position that will be dispatching from home. This Technician may be located in NYC, NY, Long Island, NY, Port Washington, NY, Stamford, CT, or the Newark, NJ area. These locations have been listed for marketing purposes but only one position is available.

Day- to- day:
Under direction, the role of this position is to lead regional customer support activities. Our Field Service Technician (FST) drives to various customer sites to perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation for Hach process and laboratory instrumentation. This position will travel 75% of the time with an average of 2 overnight stays per week at any of our company approved hotels. We have training over the first 90 days of employment and will include trips to our customer sites. The majority of training is on the job mentorship with more senior service technicians and sales team members on ride-a-longs.

Promote a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems

Submit timely, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure

Follow safe work practices according to company policy

Collaborate with and take direction from Field Service Manager/dispatch team to manage pre-call planning, efficient service schedule routing, and visit requirements.

Coordinates with manager and materials handlers to determine appropriate replacement parts inventory, efficient parts utilization, and maintain accurate inventory records.

Additional hours required as business needs require; Flexible scheduling required to meet customer demand
Qualifications

Associates or Technical degree preferred or combination of education and experience

Mastery of Preventative Maintenance (PM), diagnostics & repair on core products as required

1-2 years field service work desirable

Driver’s License and clean driving record required

Continued employment contingent on successful completion of 30, 60, and 90-day probationary achievements
