Field Order Procurement Specialist - Entry Level

Job Description:

Boart Longyear is looking for an entry level Field Order Procurement Specialist to start in our corporate office in West Valley City, UT. We are willing to train on our systems like Oracle software, and help make you familiar with drilling services.

Summary:

The Field Order Procurement Specialist receives requisitions directly from the Operations group/field representative. This individual is responsible for entire process from order entry in Oracle, quoting/negotiating/managing specific vendors, and supporting warehouse to pull parts for expediting shipments to the field. This position provides experience and knowledge on both inventory control and procurement. He/she will comply with global policies and procedures. Key measurements of success include order accuracy, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery and cost reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receives requests from operations and fleet teams and confirms requirements, budget, and timing for fulfillment.
• Identifies sources, negotiates terms and procures goods and services as required by the drilling services operations group – compliant with all corporate policies and procedures.
• Creates purchase orders or other agreements, as necessary.
• Ensures the proper quality is delivered at lowest possible cost.
• Verifies material shipping records for accuracy, resolves material handling questions, and resolves concerns of shipping shortages and/or material overages, including addressing any issues/problems with warehouse inventory control.
• Monitors and coordinates on-time delivery of products and services to meet customer requirements.
• Complies with corporate EHS policies and guidance regarding material handling techniques and shipment.
• Leads in execution of multiple continuous improvement projects.
• Partners with other departments to identify cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Manages supplier relationships, performance, and cost improvement strategies.

Education & Experience:

• Experience in Supply Chain and/or Drilling required
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of work experience.
• Able to meet physical requirements of job – lifting, bending, etc.
• Exceptional PC skills, including MS Office Suite (Excel, WORD)
• Experience using any ERP System (Oracle Experience a plus)
• Position requires someone who enjoys Teamwork, Customer Service, Expediting and Problem Solving
