Field Operator

Local Slidell area privately owned water/wastewater utility company now hiring. Field employees needed to perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of potable water facility production and distribution, as well as operations, maintenance and repairs to the sewer treatment system.

REQUIREMENTS:
High School diplomas or GED and valid driver's license required.
Mechanical/electrical and /or plumbing experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment associated with water and or wastewater operations necessary.
After hours availability for on-call during evenings and weekends needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS include water and wastewater certification through the Louisiana Department of Health; however, training will be provided (both on the job and certified operator training through the Louisiana Department of Health operator certification program).

DUTIES will include performing skilled manual labor that can be physically demanding involving the installation/repair of water meters and boxes, water & wastewater system line repairs, troubleshooting, performing maintenance/repair activities for manholes and sewer pump stations, recording of field activities and cleaning of treatment plants.
