Job Description
Overview: We are currently looking for a FF&E/Move Manager to support K-12 educational facility construction projects in Long Beach, CA. This opportunity will have you working within our Education project construction sector. The Education team is a prime consultant to multiple school districts in the country and provides services to K-12 as well as higher education institutions nationally. You will be teaming with project, program, and client leadership to provide premier educational facilities for our nation’s youth and adults seeking to better themselves through learning.

  • Oversee logistics contracts; review construction schedules for conformance to scheduled move dates and furniture deliveries.
  • Plan the furniture procurement for renovation, modernization and construction of District facilities including schools, portable classrooms and other support facilities; review and recommend layouts and quantities, scheduling and delivery.
  • Manage logistics and furniture consultants, oversee scope of work and administer contracts.
  • Serve as a liaison between District personnel and outside agencies regarding logistics and furniture procurement activities; confer with District staff, consultants and representatives of public agencies regarding planning requirements, schedules and issues.
  • Participate in the identification of furniture needs and move logistics for modernization and construction projects.
  • Prepare Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Qualifications (RFQ); analyze the scope and cost of contractor and consultant proposals; review project plans and specifications prior to bids; participate in pre-bid walks and bid openings; utilize the Critical Path Method (CPM) to calculate project timelines and schedules.
  • Utilize a variety of advisory data and information including budgets, architectural and construction plans and specifications, State and local general plans and zoning ordinances, federal and State environmental guidelines and boundary maps.
  • Research and maintain current knowledge of laws, codes, rules and regulations related to assigned activities.
  • Provide technical expertise and information regarding assigned functions and participate in the formulation of policies, procedures and programs; provide advisement of unusual trends or problems and recommend appropriate corrective action.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in the areas of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Construction/Project Management, Facilities Management, or related area required.
  • 3+ years' of project management related experience in Move Management, Relocation, Project Management, Interior Design, Facilities Management, or Coordination/Procurement of Furniture, Fixture and Equipment.
  • Procurement, sourcing, or asset management experience, preferably for a public entity.
  • Prior experience with school and/or educational facility projects is preferred.
  • Ability to read architectural and furniture drawings.
  • Knowledge of furniture and equipment specifications and procurement.
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Public Works experience.
