Job Description
Purpose of Position: This position is responsible for the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the entire club at all times by performing each housekeeping task and paying strict attention to detail. Your primary role is to get and keep members. Schedule is 2-3 days a week part time. During the week shifts will be in the afternoon. Working one day on the weekends is required. Responsibilities:
  • Provide a clean, safe, and healthy environment for members, guests, and co-workers.
  • Every staff member, regardless of position, has a primary and urgent responsibility to clean and disinfect all club components as they are used by members and guests and yourself.Help retain and attain new members through club promotion and customer service excellence.

  • Respond to member concerns, suggestions and requests
  • Communicate effectively with members, co-workers, guests and managers
  • Keep all areas of the club safe, clean and orderly at all times
  • Report all safety concerns, broken equipment and member concerns to Manager on Duty and/or your department head
  • Other projects as assigned by the General Manager or Director of Operations
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness as set by the club
Specific Responsibilities: Depending on assignments for the day, you will be given a checklist of duties. The following is not all inclusive of the specific responsibilities, but is a list of the types of tasks you will be asked to perform:
  • Sort, launder, fold linens and towels.
  • Sweep, scrub and sanitize all areas of the facility
  • Vacuum all carpeting
  • Wash walls, ceilings and woodwork. Wash windows, door panels, sills, and water fountains
  • Empty wastebaskets and dust furniture
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal
  • Replenish bathroom supplies
  • Replace light bulbs
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings
  • Communicate with the supervisor on inventory status
  • Check with MOD before the end of each shift
In addition, Housekeeping attendants are responsible for the cleanliness of the following areas:
  • Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms
  • Spa, Massage Rooms, tanning and waiting area
  • Stairwells
  • All Service and Fitness Desks
  • Sales and Accounting Offices
  • Administrative and Executive Offices
  • Employee Lounge
  • Member Lounges
  • Basketball Court
  • Weight room and Fitness Floor
  • Group Exercise Studios
  • Fitness and Consult Offices
  • Pool and Whirlpool Areas
  • All Restrooms and Shower Areas
  • Café seating area
Qualifications:
  • Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping or related experience strongly desired
  • Ability to multitask, demonstrate initiative and complete tasks assigned while adhering to deadlines
  • Must be able to bend, lift or stand for periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to work independently however, communicate needs and challenges with managers and co-workers in a timely manner
  • Must know and demonstrate the proper use of chemicals and other cleaning supplies
  • Must be detail-oriented and have an excellent work ethic
Physical Requirements: Extended periods of standing during shift; bending, lifting, pulling, pushing. Average strength and manual dexterity is necessary. This position may sit/stand for extended periods of time. There will be exposed to chemicals and cleaning solutions. This position will require use of ladders and a hydraulic lift. This position may need to work at heights up to 30 feet. Job Summary: The Housekeeping position can be full or part time and reports directly to the Operations Manager. The one thing you will always be held accountable for is the exercise of your good judgment.
