Job Description

The Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Office of Faith-Based and Community Engagement (FBCE) Performance and Public Awareness Coordinator reports to the Deputy Director of FBCE. This position evaluates program effectiveness by tracking performance measures and program goals. Plans, develops and implements a data collection and reporting process for the FBCE division. Develops, prepares and disseminates program activity and impact reports.

Cultivates and maintains relationships with internal communication team. Prepares and distributes a newsletter and outreach or public awareness campaign materials to agency partners and external stakeholders. Provides educational information to the public. Develops promotional strategies or plans. Collaborates with others in marketing activities. Evaluates public awareness campaigns and promotional strategies to ensure they match agency goals. Track, evaluate, and share results of public awareness efforts.

Develops detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation and delivering every project on time within budget and scope. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects. Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and technique. Manages mailbox and provides guidance on requests submitted for FBCE initiatives.

Represents the agency at meetings and conferences and serves on various workgroups, task forces and committees. Performs other duties as assigned. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.


Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

Establishes and implements reporting requirements for oversight of program metrics and performance measures to ensure program performance standards are met. Plans, develops and implements a data collection and reporting process for the Faith-Based and Community Engagement (FBCE) division. Liaisons with other DFPS divisions to collect and track the data necessary to fully report the impact of the FBCE division. Develops, prepares and disseminates program performance and impact reports. (30%)

Coordinates public awareness initiatives and activities, research functions, and the development of various materials and communications regarding FBCE programs. Develops communications regarding FBCE accomplishments, agenda, or events for the public and stakeholders. Collects content, writes, formats and distributes an FBCE newsletter to both internal and external stakeholders bi-monthly. Prepares and/or edits organizational publications. Evaluates the effectiveness of public awareness initiatives and promotional strategies. Writes speeches and/or speaking points for FBCE Directors and agency executives. (30%)

Manages the FBCE mailboxes which connects agency case workers requesting specific needs for children, families and vulnerable adults with faith-based partners and volunteers. Responds to requests by approving them or seeking revisions when necessary. Provides guidance and supports technology platform functions and processes to improve overall user experience. (20%)

Directs activities of interns and volunteers. Establishes and oversees administrative procedures to meet objectives set by FBCE Directors. Evaluates the work of intern staff and volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively. (10%)

Represents FBCE at meetings, conferences, workgroups, task forces and committees. Performs other duties as assigned. Serves as a liaison for the program to agency staff and management, internal and external entities and stakeholders Creates project status presentations for delivery to internal and external stakeholders (10%)

Initial Selection Criteria:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Related work experience may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis with maximum substitution of four years.



Experience in public awareness work and communicating both orally and in writing.
