The Industrial Maintenance and Facilities Technician is responsible for general facilities work. Duties include preventive and corrective maintenance on all machinery and support equipment; coordinate outside services, routine general maintenance and performing facility inspections. Experience with hydraulics, gas supplies, manufacturing machinery, electrical, HVAC, air compressors and vacuum pumps a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Uses preventative maintenance scheduling software, Cog-Z or equivalent, to perform and/or ensure regularly scheduled equipment maintenance is performed.
- Maintains operating condition of buildings and equipment, and completes all repairs using resources available.
- Utilizes knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or heating and cooling skills in performing assignments.
- Performs diagnosis, repairs and maintains equipment by performing electrical/ electronic/mechanical work.
- Installs and repairs wiring, fixtures, machinery or other electrical devices by performing electrical work at a journey level.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Ability to follow blueprints, schematics and drawings in the diagnosis and repair of equipment.
- Repairs and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- Works with subcontractors to complete building and equipment maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read equipment wiring diagrams for diagnosis purposes.
- Ability to understand and utilize equipment documentation for trouble shooting, repair and preventive maintenance.
- Understanding of good manufacturing and safety practices.
- Must possess strong customer service attitude and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to execute multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated flexibility, organization and self-motivation.
- Must know how to use Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently at times with minimal support
- 2-5 years of experience in a Facilities Maintenance role or equivalent education or combination of both.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
- Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
