Job Description

The following are intended to be examples of the accountabilities for which the person in this position is responsible.   • Assist Facilities Technician II with overseeing systems that include heating, lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, humidification, and electrical systems.
  • Assist in mounting whiteboards, pictures, monitor screens, and various types of ergonomic equipment.
  • Assist in minor patching and painting throughout office and laboratory space
  • Assist in general building repair and maintenance duties for all facilities including grounds, office, and common areas.
  • Assist Facilities Technician II with re-configurations, installs, positions, and remounts office furniture and spaces (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs using various hand, power, and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks
  • Responds to emergency calls and performs repairs for roof leaks, spills, restroom cleaning, and various other requests.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the Facilities Director to resolve issues
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Reports any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • Performs other job duties as assigned
  • Must be available for occasional rotation for after-hours emergency coverage

Pursues educational opportunities to maintain advanced and up-to-date knowledge in the field. Performs all other related duties as required and assigned and understands that the items in this description are not all-inclusive.


Required Skills
  • Minimum High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience
  • Experience in laboratory environment highly desirable
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs without accommodations
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours or more on a given shift
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Detail oriented and strong sense of urgency
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team player
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization


Required Experience
  • 3 years of previous general facilities experience or equivalent
