Facilities Maintenance/Driver

This position is located at our retail garden center, New Garden Gazebo

Our Facilities Maintenance Team members share responsibility with the rest of our staff to ensure a great shopping experience for our customers at New Garden Gazebo. A great Facilities Maintenance Team member will make every customer’s experience memorable by helping create a neat, organized, and safe shopping experience through regular daily maintenance, product stocking, and customer assistance. Frequently one of the last points of contact for our customers, the impression left by a Facilities Maintenance Team member helps build strong and long-lasting relationships with our customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

*Maintaining clean and safe grounds and facilities by regularly checking designated areas and performing cleaning/organizing as required. *Assisting in the timely and accurate stocking of products by unloading deliveries, labeling and placing in sales areas as directed. *Moving product and deliveries using a forklift (Forklift training and certification will be provided). *Maintaining plant health and saleability by watering when and as directed. *Assisting customers by loading purchases into their vehicles. *Safely operating the company delivery vehicle when delivering customer purchases, picking up product from wholesale suppliers or doing product transfers between business locations. *Completing paperwork accurately, including regular safety and maintenance checklist for company delivery vehicle and delivery and pickup paperwork. *Assisting the retail team by answering phones when needed. *Performing additional tasks and duties assigned by supervisor as required to provide and maintain a pleasant, welcoming shopping environment and outstanding customer service. *Demonstrate “The New Garden Way” in your daily actions.

Qualifications

*Must be available to work weekday, weekend and holiday shifts. *Able to work outdoors in every type of weather. *Able to bend, squat, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds, and carry 15-20 pounds repeatedly the length of the greenhouse or outdoor sales area. *Ability to maneuver between greenhouse tables which are 24 inches apart. *2+ years experience driving a box truck. *Good customer service, organizational, and math skills. *Experience with electric power tools. *Valid NC Driver's License with clean driving record.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts on Sundays. Compensation is $13.00 - $15.00/hour.
