People • Customers • Trust We are seeking resumes for several Temporary Extra Hands openings in our Valdosta, Georgia, Paper Mill.
The Temporary Extra Hand is a full-time position with the potential to work 12 hours shifts. The Valdosta Mill is a 24-hour operation; candidates must be able to work any assigned rotating shifts and be available on short notice of overtime. Assist department-wide where needed with general utility and physical labor functions. Assistance may include but, not limited to, utility services including moving, spotting and operating equipment, clean up, wash up, unplugging chutes, turning valves and making storeroom supply runs, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
Position requires minimum age 18, High School diploma or G.E.D.; Applicants will need to submit a resume illustrating their qualifications for this position, which includes the Georgia Work Ready Work Keys Assessments. https://www.wiregrass.edu/business-and-industry/workkeys

Reading for Information Level 6 Locating Information Level 5 Applied Mathematics Level 5 Observation Level 5
Preferred Qualifications:
Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred. At least 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, equipment or process operations and equivalent skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers
Ability to exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills.
Capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem-solving, ambiguity and change
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously
Ability to read and understand technical correspondence, memos, instructions, and reports.
Ability to trade off, or substitute for the Extra Hand and/or entry-level positions throughout the mill.
