The mission of Baldwin Academy is to create a nurturing learning environment that will foster critical thinking to a diverse population of preschool and elementary school students. We focus on the whole child and encourage them to achieve academic excellence by providing them with the knowledge, skills and abilities that will allow them to grow and thrive.

Let’s face it. Many preschool teachers are terrified to work in environments they feel may be unsafe due to COVID-19. While we cannot make any guarantees that there will be no outbreaks in our school, we have invested a substantial amount of resources to do all that we can to keep EVERYONE safe. We are a small, private, Christian school we want our students to learn in a safe, in-person environment. Our school grows at about 20% per year which means there are plenty of career growth opportunities here. Regarding safety, the requirements are:

· Children 2 years old and up wear face masks.

· Face shields are provided to all staff members. We believe wearing face shields and face masks will minimize the amount of spread of the virus. If doctors in hospitals wear face masks and face shields to stay protected from Covid-19, we think it would be best for our teachers to do the same.

· High touch areas such as door handles and bathrooms are disinfected every hour

· Staff are provided with disinfectant spray and bleach & water bottles

· Staff are provided with disposable gloves

· UV lights have been installed on all central AC units to disinfect the air being circulated throughout the building

· Hand sanitizing stations have been installed in every classroom

· Electrostatic sprayer machines are used nightly in each classroom to kill viruses, including Covid-19

· For safety reasons, parents are not allowed inside the building

· Temperatures are taken of every staff member and student prior to building entry

We take the health and safety of our teachers VERY seriously! In addition, our school realizes the emotional toll that this pandemic has had on everyone – staff and students alike. It is for this reason that we have partnered with therapists to teach coping skills and mindfulness techniques to our entire school. Included in those coping skills are:

· Weekly yoga

· Gardening

· Emotion regulation

· Social, emotional learning skills

· And much more!

Therapists will have satellite offices set up at our school to provide individual and group therapy sessions. They will also observe in classrooms and provide guidance to teachers on emotional support for students. Teachers are encouraged to participate in yoga, gardening, and therapy sessions when feasible. Best of all – therapy sessions are FREE for all teachers and students!

Regarding our educational environment:

· All students are provided with a set of books (Reading, Math, etc.)

- Uniforms are mandatory for all students 2 years old and up

· Age appropriate homework is provided to students 2 year old and up

· Lesson plans, schedules, monthly themes are provided

-Students are in a loving environment with a focus on academics

· Family atmosphere
