Job Description

$5000 RETENTION BONUS!!!

***Wages ranging from $15.05-$17.45 per hour***

Job Summary:

Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls and delivers high quality patient care and customer service within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols and company policies.

Essential Functions:

Operational Objectives

  • Responds to calls in a timely manner based off Company protocols.
  • Operate and drive a Company Emergency Vehicle with regard to state and company safety policies.
  • Maintain constant up-to-date knowledge and records of all current protocols issued by the regulating agencies pertaining to ambulance service.
  • Maintain the level and type of certification consistent with the performing tasks in the system to which designed
  • Compliance with all provisions of the Employee Handbook, as well as all other company rules, regulations, directives, or instructions from supervisors.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, family members, medical personal, coworkers and the general public in verbal and written form.
  • Completing and maintaining accurate records and documentation with regard to transport, equipment inspection, supplies usage incidents and other forms of documentation inherent in the operation.
  • Demonstrates the attitude of a Health Care Professional to include, but not limited to, maintaining a clean appearance, demonstrating courteous, professional and ethical behavior, and demonstrating the ability to work cooperatively with other members of the EMS Health Care System.

Patient Care Compliance

Training

  • Ensure that all required Certifications/License are current and remain current.
  • Attend all Company required OSHA training, annual or bi-annual training, and all mandatory Company updates. Complete the training in the allotted time the Company sets.
  • Maintain knowledge of job and medical field.
  • Keep current on training for new equipment, procedures, and techniques.
  • Attend available continuing educational seminars to improve management skills and recommend attendance of scheduled sessions to pertinent staff members as well.

Compliance

  • Reviews paperwork for accuracy and correct process.
  • Must participate in scheduled and unscheduled onsite compliance audits.
  • Takes swift and immediate action in accordance with Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance on any areas of concern.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures.
  • Has successfully completed all required Compliance Training within the required time period.
  • Has had no compliance related corrective action during the current review period.

Qualifications

  • Current state EMT certification or license
  • County and City mandated certifications or licenses
  • Current CPR card
  • Current ACLS card (not needed in an EMT)
  • Current state Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Current Ambulance Driver’s Certificate
  • Satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s Driving Policy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.
  • Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence.
  • Other qualifications/certifications specific to the local operation and/or contract requirements.
  • Satisfactorily meet Company physical assessments/tests.

Physical Requirements

Physical ability to perform all tasks required in the performance of typical EMT or Paramedic duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to bend/stoop, push, pull, lift, climb.

Occasionally: Work at heights.
Frequently: Lifting and carrying up to 150lbs
Constantly: Hearing/listening, clear speech, legible handwriting.

Cognitive/Psychosocial/Mental Requirements

Occasionally: Analyzing, judgment.
Frequently: Memorization, perception/computation, problem solving, simple and complex math skills, reasoning.
Constantly: Ability to follow simple and complex written and verbal instructions. Ability to read, speak, and understand English.

Frequently: Repetitive tasks, high pressure.

Occasionally: Computer
Constantly: Ambulance, company owned cell phone, company owned communication equipment.

Occasionally: Inside for Special Events
Frequently: Works around others, works alone, face-to face and verbal contact with others, inside, noise, extended day.
Constantly: Works with others, face-to-face and verbal contact with others, withstand varied environmental conditions such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture. The Company is a 365, 24/hours per day, 7 days per week operation. Evenings, weekends, and holidays.
