Position Summary:

Stitcher is the world's largest pure-play podcasting company. We started as beloved comedy podcast network Earwolf; via Midroll, we provide ad sales and distribution services to 300+ shows such as WTF with Marc Maron, Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations and many more; and with Stitcher, we own one of the largest podcast apps and a network of original content from talent such as Bill Nye and LeVar Burton. We're on a mission to transform podcasting into a major part of the media landscape, and we're looking for like-minded enthusiasts to help.

The Executive Producer, Midroll + makes world class shows with outside partners. This person leads a staff of producers dedicated to fulfilling partners’ vision, and keeping their shows delightful and satisfying for audience. The EP, Midroll + reports to the VP, Podcasting and works daily with the head of Partnerships to solve any concerns our partners may have. The EP trains producers, instills best practices, and continually tends the pipeline of podcast-hungry talent. The Midroll + partners will know they are getting better ideas and execution than they could with any other production team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead our team of producers working on Midroll (ad-supported) shows
  • Carefully choose and train talent for programs
  • Work closely with the business development teams, our partnerships team, and senior ad sales representatives to keep everyone connected
  • Use a combination of your own experience and taste, sophisticated audience data and insights from internal partners to identify core and growth audiences for our shows
  • Ensure that production budgets and timelines are met
  • Communicate regularly and directly with the talent under your care, making sure they have the tools and support they need to deliver great performances, and managing their expectations skillfully
  • Other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide employees with timely, candid and constructive performance feedback
  • Develop employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth
  • Develop the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning
  • Recognize and reward employees for their accomplishments
  • Supervise the orientation and training of new employees
  • Recommend salary increases, promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, and dismissals in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular performance reviews

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years’ experience with demonstrated success in show running, content development and production for: podcast, terrestrial or satellite radio, or similar audio medium (ideal), television, web video or related medium (optional

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Great taste in talent and stories
  • Passion for and detailed knowledge of podcasting and its variety of production styles, from chat to documentary
  • Understanding of the mechanics of producing, launching and running a successful show
  • Experience working with partners and keeping them informed and engaged
  • Experiencing managing budgets and familiarity with P&L reports.
  • Experience working collaboratively with creative and editorial talent.
  • Hands-on audio editing skills (currently in use or in your recent past). ProTools preferred.
  • Understanding of emerging, digital-first media models
  • Must be creative, have good interpersonal skills, and have the ability to multitask
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong and clear communication style
  • Ability to meet all deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail

Technical Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Pro Tools experience a plus
