Job Description:

AspenCore is seeking an experienced technology / electronics industry journalist to serve in the role of Executive Editor. The executive editor should have experience with driving all forms of editorial expression, from news content, events and podcasts to video, print, digital and social. This candidate should have an understanding of engagement metrics and a proven track record of using those metrics to drive editorial content strategy and audience growth. The Executive Editor will be the face of our global editorial team and will would also hosting global events and will build and establish relationships with key industry executives and thought leaders.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with digital content packaging and development as well as managing a busy news organization. This person will possess keen editorial judgment and a deep knowledge of the electronics industry.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Drive an audience-first strategy throughout the AspenCore content creation teams

  • Establish and maintain a strong culture and high morale among members of the newsrooms.

  • Lead the creation and distribution industry-leading multi-faceted content to key audiences of electronics executives, design engineers and suppliers of the global electronics industry

  • Responsible for the planning and execution of large-scale editorial projects including events, books, multi-media products, industry reports/research and franchise initiatives.

  • Oversees the development, production and distribution of content including conference coverage, podcasts, newsletters, eBooks, video

  • Spearheads content strategy leveraging data insights and industry expertise

  • Leads team of editors and participates in programming and moderation of industry-leading events, both in-person and virtual

  • Coordinates daily/weekly global editorial meetings and planning across brands as well as day-to-day tracking of deadlines and story assets

  • Work closely with the Audience Development team to grow SEO, newsletter, and social channel traffic and to identify, secure and cultivate top-tier partnerships and content collaborations.

  • Ensure the editorial and business strategy is understood by the team and communicate information and decisions made to ensure employees understand those decisions and how their role plays into the company’s overall success.

  • Actively contribute to content creation, editing and daily editorial operations

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Marketing, English or equivalent

  • Media B2B Industry experience required

  • At least 10 years of professional experience assigning, editing, and writing content for a B2B audience

  • Outstanding news judgment and demonstrated experience leading creative daily news coverage that builds and serves a loyal, engaged audience in the electronics or technology industry.

  • Demonstrated experience as a newsroom manager in hiring, growing and inspiring journalists.

  • A strong leader who can empower teams to think creatively while executing against ambitious editorial plans, timelines, and deadlines.

  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams (including sales team, product, marketing)

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act quickly on new digital audience growth opportunities.

  • Solid understanding of content management systems and web-based products and standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to set and maintain editorial standards and guidelines for staff and contributors

  • Experience building large, loyal audiences through SEO, UX, audience analytics and social media.

  • Experience using WordPress, Chartbeat, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Omeda, Active Campaign

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:$103,950.00 - $127,050.00

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
