ROLE SUMMARY
In collaboration with leadership, the Executive Director of Master Facilities Planning and Management develops and executes Master Facility strategies in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan. The Executive Director directs, plans, organizes, manages and provides direction for all functions and activities of Facility Planning and Management. Ensures efficient engineering services are designed to meet the needs of Yakima Valley Memorial (YVM) clinical and non-clinical operating departments.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assumes leadership responsibility for Master Facility Planning.
- Assumes management responsibility for Facility Planning across the YVM health system.
- As a key member of our leadership team, helps to continually develop measurable results-driven initiatives that define success in healthcare.
- Manages and participates in the development of Master Facility Planning Capital budget as well as department’s annual budget. Ensures compliance with Hospital, Governmental, Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare/Medicaid and all other regulatory agency expectations.
- Oversees the management of the energy management system and campus infrastructure.
- Provides financial leadership to ensure achievement of monthly and annual budget goals, including development and ongoing review of YVM’s strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, and operational plans and policies.
- Develops and implements multi-year strategies. Develops, implements and reports on department business and financial plans.
- Oversees the planning and development of maintenance programs and organizes resources for improvement and repair of facilities to include contract provisions and project specifications.
- Oversees and negotiates contracts relating to areas of responsibility. Ensures service level agreements are adhered to. Participates in Requests for Proposals related to the assigned non-clinical services that are supported.
- Develops and implements relevant policies and best practices to support innovative, cost effective, and highly differentiated delivery of services.
- Directs the development and maintenance of the facility master plan and project level planning; recommending approval for formal responses.
- Works in conjunction with Human Resources and appropriate department Manager in employee relations concerns.
- Provides strategic leadership to ensure exceptional patient, visitor and staff experience.
- Provides facility oversight and advisement across the YVM health system.
- Responsible for resource allocation, including budget and personnel, and for managing partnerships with vendors who provide services and support to the organization.
- Emphasizes elements of operational excellence through the achievement of high value (high quality at low cost), extraordinary service, and cultivation of engagement with highly effective teams.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Master’s Degree in Business Administration highly preferred. Experience: Minimum of seven years of relevant management experience in a combination of functional areas preferred. Previous leadership experience within a large integrated health system environment preferred.
