Job Description

We are looking for the next leader of our organization. Ready for additional growth, we are expanding our programs and cementing the leadership pathway for City Impact youth to lead our organization in the next 10 years.

We want to double our budget and be known as the best youth development organization in Lincoln. Ultimately, we are looking for a leader that can inspire donors, community members, and our team, unifying us around our common goal of promoting the love of Jesus, resulting in lives changed and communities transformed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for carrying out selected initiatives as determined by the Board of Directors, primarily the growth and sustainability of City Impact.
  • Develop and execute the philosophies, strategic plan, core values, and budget needed to accomplish mission and vision.
  • Lead the team in execution of 1-year goals, 3-year picture, and 10-year vision.
  • Work with the Director of Development and grow the number of City Impact investors to increase revenue.
    • Cultivate and steward 75-100 major donor relationships.
  • Be the liaison between City Impact and the Board of Directors. Effectively communicate with the Board what is happening with City Impact, and carry out directives from the Board, communicating back to the staff.
  • Be personally connected to the program participants and community members.
  • Regularly participate in the overall life of City Impact, cultivating an atmosphere of unity and encouragement among all ministries, staff, and people.
  • Practice and promote a faith-based ministry, personally and professionally.
  • Run the organization using EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), acting as the Visionary and Integrator.
  • Integrator Responsibilities:
    • Execute the business plan, achieving or exceeding planned P&L objectives.
    • Own the scorecard and leverage it to proactively identify issues.
    • Lead, manage, and hold the leadership team accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments. (Operations, Program, Communications and Development Directors are your direct reports)
    • Integrate all major operating functions of the business using the EOS. Ensure everyone is rowing together in the same direction. Model the way, always working to execute our mission.
    • Resolve issues quickly and effectively – seeing real problems, being comfortable with conflict, calling out the problems, and solving the problems in a practical and healthy manner. Ensure the leadership team is healthy, functional, and cohesive.
    • Ensure that everyone is truly following and adhering to the company’s core processes and operating system with consistency. Demonstrate effective project management and continuous improvement skills. Use both skills to evolve our core processes.
    • Dependably demonstrate a relentless obsession with values alignment, focus, simplicity, and clarity.
    • Confirm that all key messages are properly and consistently cascaded across the organization. Inherently ensure that everyone is in the know. Verify that a high level of effective communication exists throughout the organization.
  • Visionary Responsibilities:
    • Lead in generating ideas and plans, thinking big picture and outside of the box.
    • Lead the big relationships, spark the big ideas, and make the big decisions.
    • Serve as the “face” of the organization, out in public and getting people excited about what we do.
    • Embody the culture of our organization and make sure our core values are lived out in everything we do.
    • Follow Jesus’s model of servant leadership by showing up faithfully and connecting authentically.
What You Need

  • Have experience as “face of the company;” are adept at promotion/PR, and are excited to share City Impact with the world
  • Thrive on generating big ideas, nurturing big relationships and maintaining/driving culture
  • Have a track record of successful partnership with a board
  • Are an essentialist, a natural-born simplifier, power of focus (power of saying “no”)
  • Are driven by independent thinking and distinct goals to accomplish
  • Communicate directly and focus on the mission in front of you
  • Manage by teaching and leading through hands-on action

You will be a great fit for this position if you…

  • Have 5+ years of leadership in a faith-based ministry or leadership development organization, working with under-resourced communities
  • Proven leadership and management experience delegating and creating clarity for team members and direct reports
  • History of creating processes and procedures that help teams thrive and achieve their goals
  • Excellent time management skills and follow-up habits
  • Familiarity and ease of use with cloud-based platforms. Experience with Salesforce, Dropbox, and GSuite

40hrs/week minimum. Salary dependent upon experience.
