We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as an Executive Director.


Required Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, Finance or a closely related field and 10 years of related experience in fundraising, scholarships, donor relations in a College or University setting. Experience with donor base management software is required.


Desired qualifications: A master’s degree and experience with Raiser’s Edge is preferred.


Salary: This is a twelve (12) month administrative position with a competitive salary dependent upon knowledge, skills and experience.


Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekends are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow the major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major/principal gifts donors and corporations. Requires documentation of rating and screening procedures for prospects with highest giving potential. Includes development and deployment of naming opportunities for gift recognition and building of funds for scholarship portfolio and a comprehensive donor stewardship program. Maintains an active personal portfolio of 100-125 active prospects and donors.
  • Develop, monitor and report each quarter on the annual fundraising plan with meaningful, measurable objectives, goals and actions for restricted and unrestricted giving related to the annual fund campaign, the major/principal gifts program, the identification, cultivation and presentation to private foundations, and Foundation-sponsored events. Annual fundraising plan development and presentation is required within first five (5) months of employment with annual review each January.
  • Consult, train, empower and assist the Office of Alumni Relations staff as they lead in executing a strategy for an annually growing and sustainable base of annual alumni and employee individual donors. Includes outreach and solicitation of a personal portfolio of lead alumni donors, and on the development and growth of an annual employee giving campaign resulting in Daytona State numbering in the top 20% of Florida State College peers within three (3) years.
  • Build a planned giving program, including a strategy for marketing and recognition, with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest and trust expectancies. Develop relationships with legal, financial and accounting professionals as sources to engage potential planned giving donors. Research and recommend a strategy for a council of advisors in planned giving to be implemented upon within 12 months of assuming this role.
  • Serve as Division liaison for areas of responsibility with other individuals, groups, and organizations both internal and external to the College community. Assists the Vice President in hiring and management of support staff, including student workers, and serves as primary representative of the Office of Institutional Advancement/Foundation in the absence of the vice president.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate must have excellent organizational skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to develop and meet goals is required. Experience with developing and managing budgets is required. He/She must have knowledge of computers, peripherals, and software programs such as Microsoft Suite and donor database management software, such as Raiser's Edge. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be flexible in order to meet the demands of the College. He/She must also be able to take direction as well as work effectively and professionally on their own.
