The Executive Director, Strategy & Operations will be responsible for critical activities related to execution, oversight and coordination of initiatives that will enable access strategy realization. This role will lead efforts in the creation, adoption and reporting of access performance assessment tools for strategic products across countries, identify activities both internally and externally to engage with customers to produce meaningful insights related to healthcare systems policies and approaches which impact access strategy development across targeted countries, leverage digital capabilities to enable broad communication of significant access achievements, management perspectives, policy changes and capability insights, and partner with global and regional leaders within HH, MRL, PCPH and other organizations to develop and implement curriculums for access capability upskilling. In addition to these responsibilities, he/she will be a member of the Global Access Strategy leadership team, lead a team of five.

Operations: This position will partner with GMAx leadership and key global colleagues in continued support of developing and implementing access strategy globally based on the new operating model. He/she will assess and recommend improvements to existing strategy development processes, evaluate key performance indicators and develop a dashboard to effectively monitor access performance across business requirements consistent with HH priorities, engage the organization on establishing a standardized customer based archetype method across pharmaceutical and vaccines business lines and evaluate new approaches to obtaining customer perspectives consistent with company policies and procedures ensuring and integrated approach. The leader will also be accountable for the communication of significant market access related events, milestones, capabilities, and news across the organization.

Team Leadership: Lead a team of five and is responsible for assessing the performance and leadership behaviors of the team against priorities ensuring all projects are on schedule and budget as well as working with team members to create and implement employee development plans for each team member. In addition, this leader will manage the contracted program manager team of six to ensure the agency is delivering against all projects on time and budget.

Capability Building: This leader will partner with global and regional access leadership to deploy the curriculum to enable capability upskilling in keys areas of value demonstration and affordability at the global, regional and country level. This will be accomplished by collaborating with global and regional leaders across Global Market Access, CORE, PCPH, Medical Affairs and Learning and Development. The leader will initiate continuous improvement efforts to support innovation, change management, and development opportunities across the organization.

Education:

  • BA/BS; master’s degree in business administration, health policy, or health economics preferred

Required:

  • 10 years minimum relevant experience in business, management and support functions
  • Strong leadership, change execution, and financial management skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously balance and adjust to multiple changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy.
  • Robust interpersonal, written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent coaching & development experience, driving customer service/value and building strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain talent; build strong, informed and unified teams.
  • Language: English required.
  • Travel: Up to 25%

  • This candidate has experience in large-scale transformation initiatives across a global environment.
  • The ideal candidate should possess exceptionally well-developed interpersonal skills. Communication skills will be critical to this leader’s ability to interact, negotiate and effectively influence cross-functional and interdisciplinary leaders. He/she must be able to articulate and build support around a long-term vision and implement incremental milestones in support of that vision.
  • This candidate will have demonstrated skills that emphasize collaboration in a highly matrixed organization. Includes demonstrated ability to manage across geographic boundaries and cross-divisions, while also building effective cross-functional relationships.

  • Strong aptitude for recruiting, retaining and developing talent as this role will have three direct reports and a team of five
  • Lean/Six Sigma and Change Management experience desirable.
