Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) brings together American Express' merchant and network-related businesses. The mission of the Global Strategy & Capabilities (GS&C) team within GMNS is to deliver a frictionless, value-added experience to meet changing merchant and partner needs, enable global acceptance, and drive future growth. GS&C consists of a diverse set of teams that support the GMNS business.


This position will report to the Vice President, GMNS Operational Excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Schedule management: Maintaining multiple Vice President-level calendars using a high level of integrity, managing across senior leaders of American Express. Proactively and independently review calendar for conflicts that might occur in future weeks and make necessary adjustments.
  • Communication: serve as the initial liaison for internal and external senior leaders.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participating in team meetings, managing organization charts, and maintaining departmental distribution lists.
  • Influencing: Assisting peers with process-related questions and best practices.
  • Inventory Management: Managing departmental assets, supplies & services procurement and other administrative support tasks.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Track record as an administrative assistant
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent organization and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly calendaring.
  • Executive communication: Demonstrated ability to interact with leaders and handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Sound judgement: Able to juggle the multiple day-to-day responsibilities of the office and prioritize appropriately.
  • Proactivity: Ability to take the initiative to anticipate the needs of the team.
  • Office Skills: Highly proficient with Outlook. Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint a plus.
  • Amex Solutions: Knowledge of platforms such as Concur, Reserve, Cisco/WebEx, Ariba, Navigator, Payroll, and TechCare is preferred.
  • Great attitude: Positive energy and outlook
