THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF UP TO THREE YEARS.As a part of the Lineberger's Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) Office. Per our national funder, the National Cancer Institute, the COE Office carries out one of the Lineberger's most critical functions, which is to help our 400+ researchers understand and address the cancer burden in North Carolina and how to eliminate cancer disparities. To do this, the COE Office meaningfully engages the community in cancer research, clinical care, and programmatic efforts.The purpose of the Evaluation Coordinator in Lineberger's Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) is to contribute to the achievement of COE goals through the creation and implementation of a robust evaluation strategy. The regular evaluation of programs and services is essential to the ongoing growth and development of our office, as it will allow for data-driven strategic planning and program improvement. To that end, this position will develop, manage, and implement an evaluation strategy for the COE office, including the establishment of metrics and development of a system for ongoing data collection and reporting.  This position will serve as a subject matter expert on evaluation and provide technical assistance for the evaluation of programs and services, such as the Community Health and Assets Needs Assessment Project. This large project inventories, assembles, and utilizes population datasets to describe cancer occurrence and outcomes in all 100 counties of North Carolina. The Evaluation Coordinator will be an active member of the project team and assist with quantitative and qualitative assessments, as well as primary and secondary data analysis.  S/he will also be instrumental in capturing metrics on evidence-based interventions from individual LCCC studies and projects. The person in this position will create process and impact instruments for evaluation of COE programs and services as well as the Community Health and Assets Needs Assessment.  The Evaluation Coordinator will write data-informed content for reports, infographics, and the COE website about the cancer burden in North Carolina. S/he will draft data summaries and COE success stories for internal researcher audiences, as well as contribute to planning, writing, and editing LCCC reports and presentations as needed.  The position requires substantial capacity to work independently, in a self-directed manner, to identify, manage, and coordinate activities. The Evaluation Coordinator will maintain good working relationships with the COE Team, Lineberger researchers, community members, and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
