In this role, this team member will work closely with PNG IT team members, technology vendors and business partners to enable new capabilities and ensure existing capabilities continue to function. Candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in the identification and evaluation of new technologies that drive toward business objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in project planning, scoping and estimating associated with enhancements to database platforms
  • Configuration and administration of assigned database platforms
  • Assist and verify design of solution and production of all design phase deliverables
  • Manage build phase and quality assure code to fulfill requirements and adhere to ETL Architecture.
  • Engage external providers to resolve any issues in the functionality and interoperability of new and existing data integrations. This may include working with internal team members and vendors to aid in troubleshooting application issues as they related to the underlying systems and databases.
  • Participate in definition of best-in-class data integration architectures
  • Resolve difficult design and develop issues
  • Develop technical documentation related to the supported environments.
  • Partner with business and technology subject-matter experts to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
  • Coordinate with enterprise architects and information architects to ensure new technologies align to roadmaps and to understand the impact on the organization’s information strategies.
  • Provide support for IT staff at properties as it relates to data provided from the EDW
  • Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Communicate and instruct new users on new and existing platforms. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Present information to senior management.

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Evaluates, selects, tests, and optimizes ETL processes for optimal data availability and quality.
  • Work with business requirements analysts to identify and understand source data systems.
  • Map source system data to the enterprise data warehouse models.
  • Design, develop, and test high-quality extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes.
  • Set standards for the definition and capture of metadata and rules associated with ETL processes. Adapt ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements.
  • Works with the Enterprise Data Management team for the development of logical and physical data models, ETL scripts, metadata definitions and models, queries and reports, schedules, work processes, and maintenance procedures.
  • Work with business stakeholders regarding identification techniques, documentation, and resolution of data quality issues.
  • If performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to improve performance including server configuration changes, or index/query changes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; must have a broad technical background. Strong technical and problem resolution skills are required.
  • 6+ years of experience as an ETL Architect.
  • 4 years’ experience on modeling and business system designs.
  • Proven experience managing simultaneous projects.
  • Knowledge of big data architectures and concepts are highly valued.
  • Established background in leveraging the latest state of the art technologies for optimal data delivery, including but not limited to data virtualization, event stream, and replication.
  • Highly functional understanding and background in the use of ETL tools (e.g., SSIS).
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer data matching techniques (i.e., Master Data Management for customers, products, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of the Sarbanes Oxley Act and its impact on data security and change management controls.
